Veteran stopped Cech faces competition for his place between the sticks from new signing Bernd Leno.
Manager Unai Emery is yet to make any decisions on who will be his starting goalkeeper for the Premier League season opener against Manchester City.
But Gunners legend Seaman believes that Cech has the edge.
“He (Cech) has still got great qualities and it isn’t like he has had a bad season or anything, he still produced,” Seaman said.

“Obviously he is getting older but your game adapts, that is what I found, you might not be as sharp as what you used to be but your experience gets you into the right positions.”
Emery has been rotating Cech and Leno during pre-season fixtures so far, given that neither were away on World Cup duty.
The presence of those two names means that David Ospina, who regularly featured in cup competitions for Arsenal last season, has dropped further down the pecking order.
Ospina is linked with a move to Boca Juniors and Seaman says that there is unlikely to be a future for the Colombian at the Emirates.
He said: “I don’t think Ospina would be quite happy being a number two because he has been that for quite a while.
“He might even be a number three so I would imagine David wants to play football, you can’t spend a big chunk of your career being a reserve.
“You’ve got to go out there and see how good you are.”
