Robben and Ribery set to leave Bayern
Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben are set to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, the club’s president Uli Hoeness has revealed. The veteran pair are in the final years of their contracts at the Allianz Arena.
“Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben are very likely to make their last year at Bayern,” Hoeness was quoted by German media as saying during a question-and-answer session with fans.
Ribery, 35, and 34-year-old Robben have been at the heart of Bayern’s success over the past decade. Ribery, who joined Bayern from Marseille in 2007, has won the Bundesliga title eight times, the DFB-Pokal five times and the Champions League.
Robben, who moved from Real Madrid two years later, has seven Bundesliga titles, four German cups and the Champions League to his name, memorably scoring the winner in the final win over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
