Xherdan Shaqiri is due to undergo his medical at Liverpool ahead of his £13.5million move from Stoke City.
The Anfield giants triggered a release clause in the Switzerland star’s contract and are poised to wrap up a deal for the attacker, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Jurgen Klopp has fended off competition from clubs across Europe to land the 26-year-old, whose involvement in the World Cup was ended at the last 16 stage by Sweden last week.
Shaqiri is likely to make his Reds debut during the pre-season tour of America later this month.
Klopp believes securing the services of such an experienced attacker will help add real depth to the squad.

Liverpool have been looking to increase their cover in wide areas for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Dead ball specialist Shaqiri fits the bill at a bargain price.
The Reds boss has long since admired Shaqiri having come up against him in the Bundesliga.
He won back-to-back league and German Cup doubles with Bayern Munich and was part of their squad which beat Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund in the 2013 Champions League final.
Since joining Stoke in 2015, Shaqiri has scored 15 Premier League goals in 84 appearances.
