The Catalan giants splashed out £142million on the talented Brazilian this time last year in the hope he’d fill the boots of the departing Neymar and Andres Iniesta.
But in recent weeks the midfielder has found game time difficult to come by and has fallen behind the likes of Arthur and Arturo Vidal in the Nou Camp hierarchy.
As things stand Coutinho would rather stay in Spain and fight for his place in the Barcelona first team.
It seems the Brazilian has taken his manager Ernesto Valverde’s words to improve on board and is willing to pull his sleeves up for the cause.
But Spanish publication AS is reporting that Barcelona are worried about the Brazilian’s situation for two specific reasons.
One reason is that his confidence is said to be ‘fragile’ at this moment in time as speculation continues to surround him.

The second reason the club are allegedly worried is because of Coutinho’s agents.
Kia Joorabchian and Giuliano Bertolucci are known for being vocal and have already voiced their opinion on Coutinho’s situation.

It is suggested that while Coutinho wants to stay at Barcelona, his agents could convince him a transfer is better for him in the long-run.
Coutinho has featured 16 times in La Liga this season, and has netted four times.
